Living Curiously.
Living Curiously is what we do.
It’s everything that Wylie’s Coffee was born from.
We bring together inspiration from our travels and different cultures, the thrill of exploration and a momentary sense of escapism, all accompanied by the simple pleasure of a really great coffee.
We believe that to live curiously is to be open to finding something new. Grab your courage, feel passionate, question everything (even yourself), push yourself, push your boundaries, set new boundaries, learn something new and never settle.
Feel inspired. It all starts with wanting to know more.
Our Story.
Wylie's Coffee was launched in 2021 by Freddie & Stef - we’re independently owned, sustainably driven and curiously inspired. Our mission is simple; to encourage a moment of calm in your day where you can pause over a really great cup of coffee.
Our coffee journey started in Sydney where we were absorbed into a new coffee culture that was very different to the UK. We fell in love with how people approached their daily coffee - it wasn't just a 'quick grab & go before catching a train' but instead, they took the time to enjoy and appreciate the time and what it brought to their day, whether that was by themselves or shared with someone else.
When travelling Japan we found that this level of care and consideration was embedded in their culture. We spent 4 weeks discovering roasters and coffee shops up and down the country, learning as much as we could and fully buying into their respect and ritualistic approach to coffee. These manners are ones that have stayed with us and formed the foundations of our love for the drink.
Wylie’s Coffee is more than just your caffeine hit, we’re a moment in time, however you choose to spend it. It’s your me-time, your time with friends, your time to focus or maybe it’s simply just the appreciation of having the time.
Our Coffee.
It’s really important to us that the coffee we serve not only tastes great, but is also ethically and sustainably sourced. That’s why we only work with high-welfare traders who have direct relationships with the farmers and producers behind every bean. In the future, we’re excited to visit coffee farms ourselves and build long-term, meaningful partnerships at origin.
We partner with Copper Coffee, a local roaster based in Surrey, for our espresso and decaf — both of which change seasonally to keep things fresh and flavourful. For our filter coffee, we rotate monthly, collaborating with a variety of roasters from across Europe to showcase different styles, origins, and approaches to the craft.
We’re proud of the care and skill that goes into roasting every batch. It’s a crucial part of the process — and one we don’t take lightly. Each variety is treated with the attention it deserves to bring out the unique qualities of the bean and make sure every cup we serve is one worth slowing down for.
Why Wylie’s?
One of the first questions we get asked is: “Why Wylie’s?”
Well — it’s not our surname. Instead, it’s named after Wylie’s Baths, a beautiful ocean rock pool just south of Bondi Beach. When we were living in Sydney, we’d spend our weekends there — swimming, sipping good coffee, and soaking up the calm, sun-drenched atmosphere that felt a bit like the Mediterranean.
Those days left a mark on us. They were slow, grounding, and joyful — and we wanted to bring a little piece of that feeling back to the UK.
Wylie’s Coffee is our way of doing just that. It’s a space shaped by where we’ve been, what we love, and who we are. We’re really proud of what we’ve built, and we hope it gives you that same sense of ease and warmth every time you walk through the door.
